Zen of the Jewelers Saw
If you think you know how to saw, you probably don't. This class provides the necessary foundation to keep from breaking saw blades. A must skill for any bench jeweler, there is more to sawing than putting in a blade and hacking away. Sonja provides the basics in an easy way, and provides lots of practical tips and exercises. (from April 12, 2012 class) Stacked Rings - A Introduction to Metalsmithing This is an awesome class! Sonja is very helpful and patient. I would recommend this class for any beginner or intermediate wanting to learn a new skill or improve on their own skills. I plan on taking more classes soon. (from March 3, 2012 class) Stacked Rings - A Introduction to Metalsmithing Great class! Learned all I hoped to and more. Wonderful instructor. Excellent studio setup. If you are on the fence as to whether or not to take this one - go ahead and do it you'll be glad you did. (from Dec 13, 2012 class) Stacked Rings - A Introduction to Metalsmithing Review Creating this ring was a lot of fun. Recommend you get "silver" to work with to contrast with the copper, the resulting rings are awesome. Great class (from May 26, 2012 class) Stamp, Texture, Form - Sterling Earrings I have taken several of Sonja's classes. This is one of the best. I got to use all of my techniques and left with a pair of fun earrings. This class is a Must Have if you want to put your skills to work. (from March 29, 2014 class) Out of the Box Bezels Another excellent class. Lots of time to practice, many great techniques shared. We were allowed the option to do a regular round setting or try a irregular setting. I tried the irregular!!! and love the resulting piece. You should be somewhat familiar with soldering and sawing prior to attending this class, as these skills were necessary to complete the piece. The class had awesome folks too, I've enjoyed meeting other "newbies". Keep up the good work!!! (from Feb. 25, 2012 class) Building with Cold Connections Wow, fun. Learn how to join without fire. This class demonstrates using ready made eyelets and brads, plus how to make them from scratch in different metals. Fun, easy, more than enough practice time and great opportunity to use mixed metals. Does not require sawing or soldering for assembly. (from April 16, 2012 class) Beginning Soldering I just wanted to say again how much I loved your class last night! Soldering was a true frustration for me and now I will become more proficient. I look forward to another class. I am signing up today for the sawing and texture class. — Brigett Hart Much Appreciated Enthusiasm Hello College Park friends, this lady is an awesome teacher.
